In this activity you are going to use your paint/draw tools to illustrate State symbols for one of the 50 United States. If you need hints about the symbols, ask your teacher if you can look at Internet sites to get ideas. A really great site with information on all 50 States is: http://www.50states.com/
- Choose one State to illustrate. It can be your State, or one you've visited or want to visit.
- Launch the Paint/Draw program on your computer.
- Use your Pencil or Brush tool to divide your canvas into 4 sections.
It should look like this:
- Use your Text tool to include the Name of your State, abbreviation for the State and the Capital of the State in the top left section.
- The top right section should contain a drawing of the State Flag.
- Other State symbols include:
Motto
Flower
Bird
Tree
- Choose two other symbols from the list in step 6 and put one in each of the remaining sections.
- Use the color tools to add lots of color to your drawing and don't forget about the Eraser tool if you make a mistake.
- Save and print your State symbols illustration.
