For this activity you will use a spreadsheet to track the weather for 1 week. The Weather Tracking spreadsheet has been completed but you will need to change the high and low temperatures to match the high and low for your city.
- Click the Weather Tracking icon to open the spreadsheet.

- You will need to get information either from a newspaper or the Internet on the weather for your city. If your teacher says it's o.k. you can go to www.weather.com and enter your zip code. Then scroll down the page to see the 10 day forecast for your city. Print the Web page to use for this activity.
- Enter the City name in cell A1 so the title of the spreadsheet is Weather Tracking Your City.
- Replace the high and low temperatures on the spreadsheet with the high and low temperatures for your city.
- As you replace the numbers, the mean temperature for the week should also change.
- Create a column chart in the spreadsheet.
- Make sure the spreadsheet is open.
- Click cell A2, hold the left mouse button, drag the mouse pointer through to cell A4, keep pressing the mouse button and then drag to cell H4. You have selected the range A2:H4.
- Click the Chart Wizard button on the Standard toolbar.
- The Chart Wizard dialog box is displayed. Click the Finish button to create the default chart.
- Place the pointer on the chart and then hold down the left mouse button. Drag the chart down so that the top of the chart is below row 7.
- Type your name in Cell A7.
- Use the Save As command to save your work using a new file name either on your floppy disk or your desktop.
- Print your spreadsheet and the graph.
- Close the file and quit the program.
